This wonderful home is located on the rim of Laguna de Apoyo, the crown jewel of Nicaragua. The panoramic views from the covered porches, covered balcony and stone patios are incredible…sunrise and sunset will take your breath away. The many glass windows and doors open to allow the cool breezes of this microclimate above Granada to keep you cool when the city is hot. In spite of the fact the home could sleep 11 we keep our limit of guests to 6.
The home is offered with a 2 person staff that clean the home, do your dishes, water the plants, do the laundry, maintain the pool, take care of your trash and watch the property for you when you are off on adventures. Norman is taking English classes so perhaps when you visit he will help you with your questions.
The road to access the property from Managua or Granada is paved and free of potholes and a pleasure to use. Within a 2 minute drive or a 10 minute walk there are two delightful bar/restaurants that provide more expansive views of the Laguna and a pleasant array of foods and beverage.
You can have the household staff put the dining table, chairs and candelabra on the stone patio, including the linen table cloth, then have one of the restaurants cater a starlit candlelight dinner for 2, 4 or six right there at your holiday house, the cost is minimal and worth a million memories. Or if you prefer grill your dinner on the modern gas grill provided with the home.
Next to the restaurant up the hill you can take a lesson in parasailing using the currents of the winds as they rush from Lake Nicaragua across the top of Granada and gust around the Laguna.
This property is 20 minutes from Catarina where you will find a vast array of fruit stands, pottery booths and gift booths, Catarina has several restaurants on the Mirador but quite frankly the views do not rival those from your very own covered balcony where you can sip your morning coffee and read a good book from the supply offered in the living room.
Depending on when you visit our home we have a Mango tree in the gated parking area and fresh basil and sage for cooking.
If you find yourself short of rum or soft drinks there is a small store within a two minute walk where you can purchase these items at competitive prices.
When sunning by the cool waters of the pool you are very private and birthday suits are welcome, however on a couple of occasions when the wind currents are right we have had a parasailer come within speaking distance as they whoosh past the patio.
